Jennie Morris remembers the loss of her husband in an air accident, the lack of support then available and the importance of the support provided by the RAF Widows Association.
Jennie Morris remembers meeting her first husband, Jim Downey, his progression through RAF pilot training and her experience as a service wife. She tells how he died in a mid-air collision between two Harrier aircraft on 19 January 1976 and the challenges faced after his loss. She comments on the lack of support available, describes her involvement with the RAF Widows Association and explains the value of the Association’s work.
