Avro 504K
One of the most famous aircraft of all time, the original Avro 504 appeared in 1913. 504s equipped five night-fighter squadrons.
The 504K training version was produced in1918. Fully aerobatic, the Avro made an ideal training aircraft. Its light and powerful controls quickly showed up any faults in a pupil's flying. This is a composite airframe with a complex history; the fuselage came from an aircraft that gave joyrides around Sussex from 1926 to 1934. The wings are from a modified Avro 548A that flew between 1925 and 1930.
